Here’s a short video of the Daedong DPD600T in action last week, working at Batch Plant’s facilities in Cwmbran, South Wales.

The demonstration was set up in collaboration with Balfour Beatty Rail and Network Rail, to test and exhibit the capabilities of the Daedong Pile Driver when used on a long reach Doosan 270, provided by Total Rail Solutions.

With this set up it is possible to place tubular piles of 610mm & 762mm diameter, at a radius of up to 10 metres from the railway line.

All involved were very impressed with the capabilities of the system, which resulted in all parties to prepare and co-ordinate the works more effectively.

This afternoon we said a fond farewell to Ian Barthorpe who is retiring after many years in the business. Ian has been with us since 1999 and before that worked for us  as a sub contractor. However, our MD first met Ian when they both did their apprenticeship training at Chesterfield college at the age of 15 - so it's fair to say Ian has been with us since the very beginning.

Ian’s commitment and hard work in the engine shop will be sorely missed but through his guidance and encouragement of his younger co-workers his expertise will continue here at EP Industries.

​We celebrated with a staff gathering, some cake and a few words from our MD and want to wish Ian all the best and lots of happiness for the future in his retirement.
